Sunday, December 25, 9:30 & 11:00 AM
NO worship services at 8:15 AM, 12:30 PM, or 9:30 AM in the Grimes Chapel)

The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is a worship service celebrating the birth of Jesus.  The format was conceived by E. W. Benson, later Archbishop of Canterbury, for Christmas Eve 1880 in Truro, England.  In 1918 it was adapted for the chapel of King’s College, Cambridge, by its Dean, Eric Milner-White.  The service weaves together scripture and song in a progression that carries us from prophecy to fulfillment, from Old Testament foretelling to a birthday celebration.  While this Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols has been edited for United Methodist congregations, a version of this service is used in many different church denominations around the world.  Join us for this special worship celebration.
