Teaching Children to Help Others

Bethany Children’s Missions, a Children’s Ministry of Bethany UMC, strives to help children in need.  Students from Bethany School can participate by donating items for under privileged children to the following missions throughout the 2009 - 2010 school year:

·       Undie Sundays – Donate unused socks and underwear to children in need.  Took place in September 2009.  Bethany children collected 1581 pair of underwear and socks!!

·        Libraries of Love - Donate new and gently used hardback books to establish school libraries in Africa.  Took place in November 2009.  Over 2200 books were collected & money was raised to feed 195 children at these schools for 3 months.   

·        Health Kits for Haiti - Donate items for health kits to send to victims of the earthquake.   Took place in February 2010.  Children assembled 300 kits with items that were collected.

·        Beans, Beans, Beans Fodd Drive – Donate canned beans to benefit the Hill Country Ministries Food Pantry.  Takes place in April 2010.
