Environmental Stewardship
Ministry

The Earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. - Psalm 24:1

Where do you feel closest to God? For many, it’s amidst the beauty of His creation. Often, even Jesus retreated to the sanctuary of the outdoors to be in prayer with his Father. Indeed, God loves his creation and is in relationship with it. He makes it clear that we are only borrowing what belongs to Him. Created in His image, God entrusted us with stewardship of the environment, which He created, owns, and loves. Because humanity depends on this creation for food, water, shelter, and other necessities, we can also show love to our neighbors by caring for the environment, which sustains all human life.

Environmental Stewardship Ministry

The Bethany Environmental Stewardship ministry’s purpose is to invite, inspire, and enable the Bethany community to live in harmony with the Biblical principles of environmental stewardship, both at home and at church. We strive to achieve this mission by providing comprehensive education and services, in a credible, understandable, and inclusive way. Over time, we hope to offer such opportunities so that we may better understand the primary ways we harm God’s creation and ways in which we can become better environmental stewards.

 Please Join Us!

We believe environmental stewardship is an important component of Christianity. It’s a journey to which God calls each of us. Regardless of where you are on your own environmental stewardship journey, we welcome you! If you’d like literally to help change the world, please join us in this exciting Bethany community.
