Our men are a relatively untapped resource for
Offering Christ to All.

But how can men effectively help make
true disciples of Jesus Christ?
Through effective ministries that serve God by serving others,
churches of the Southwest Texas Conference more effectively
reach, evangelize, grow and send disciples of Jesus Christ for
the transformation of the world.

The Reverend John Michael “Mike” Lowry has been Executive Director of New Church Development and Transformation for the Southwest Texas Conference (SWTC) since June 2006. Before that, he was senior pastor of University UMC in San Antonio for five years. Reverend Lowry has held numerous SWTC offices, including chair of the Board of Ordained Ministry, Committee on Church Extension, and Council on Church Revitalization and Church Extension. He serves the larger church as a member of the following boards: Texas Methodist Foundation, United Methodist Publishing House, Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University and Southwestern University.
