Prayer Service Opportunities
| Intercessory Prayer Teams Pray with others for the purple-edged prayer request cards, Bethany website prayer requests, and calls for prayer to the Bethany office. Join one of our Intercessory Prayer Groups – Tuesdays, 8-9:30 a.m. or Thursdays, 11-12:30 in the Prayer Room (D307). You don’t have to pray out loud! All you need is the willingness to agree in prayer (silently or out loud) and the ability to keep all requests confidential. | Prayer Time in the Upper Room Come to the Bethany Prayer Room (D307) by yourself to pray for individuals, our church, and the world! Or meditate, praise God, or simply sit in silence. The room is organized for you to pray at stations that give many suggestions for prayer but there are other ways to pray there. Commit to a specific half-hour or hour weekly for 4 months. | Pray the Church All we do at Bethany is covered in prayer! On one Friday or Saturday a month, prayer-walk inside the church buildings. It generally takes 30-45 minutes to walk through all the buildings and prayer suggestions are provided. Commit to one weekend a month. No training necessary and prayer guides are provided. | Pray the Perimeter Can you multi-task? Walk with us outside, agreeing in prayer for our church! You don’t have to pray out loud! We want Bethany surrounded by God’s protection so a small group of people prayer-walk around the perimeter of our property on Thursday mornings, 8:30-9. We pray for the church – and also pick up any trash we see as we go! (on rainy days we walk inside) No need to schedule – just join us in the Bethany office by 8:25 on Thursday mornings. | Family Prayer Team This is a team of folks who agree to pray for at least one Bethany family each day. We will supply you with a list of family names, a prayer guide if you'd like one, and suggestions on how to remember to pray each day for your families. All we ask is that you lift one family in prayer each day and ask for God's blessings on each of them. Each praying team ( can be individuals, or couples ) will have around 20 families to pray for. | Prayer Shawl Ministry Combines knitting/crocheting with praying for others! Meet to knit/crochet shawls for folks experiencing difficult times, such as illness or life crisis. Come to enjoy fellowship and prayer as we work. Or contribute by making shawls and praying at home. Finished shawls are blessed by the group and then given to those in need of God’s grace. Just come to the Prayer Room (D307) on Tuesdays, 7:00 - 8:30 PM, ready to knit or crochet. You don’t have to pray out loud! If you don't know how to knit/crochet, come anyway! | Prayer E-Group Pray from home or work for timely concerns by joining a Bethany Yahoo email group to send and receive prayer requests. This group has two purposes: to mobilize a large group of people to quickly pray for NON-confidential requests and to give a forum for others to share NON-confidential prayer needs. All you need is email and a willingness to lift others before God when a request comes to you! Send a blank e-mail to: bethany-prayer-subscribe@yahoogroups.com – Yahoo will reply with a message that says you have been enrolled – if you “reply send” to that you will be enrolled! You will use a different email address to send in requests: Bethany-prayer@yahoogroups.com Requests to pray may come in only once a week or several a day.
