THE AFRICAN CHILDREN’S CHOIR
The African Children's Choir™ is composed of African children, ages 7 through 11. Many have lost one or both parents through the devastation of war, famine and disease. They represent all the children of a continent and they demonstrate the potential of African children to become strong leaders for a better future in their land.

WHAT IS THEIR CONCERT LIKE?
The children melt the hearts of audiences with their charming smiles and delightful African tunes, accompanied by ethnic instrumentation. The program features well-loved children’s songs, hand clapping, traditional spirituals and contemporary tunes. Nearly every performance is concluded with a thunderous standing ovation. A marvelous by-product of the concert is the inspiration the music brings to virtually every listener. In spite of the tragedy that has marred their young lives, the children are radiant with hope, musically gifted and wonderfully entertaining.

The children sing on behalf of their brothers, their sisters, their friends, and their village. Their songs bring great joy to those who hear them, but through their songs they are asking for help. Each child in the Choir has a story. They have experienced more tragedy in their young lives than most of us will ever know in a lifetime. Yet, each child has a dream - a hope for tomorrow. They want to be teachers, doctors, musicians and pilots. The African Children's Choir™ is committed to making these dreams a reality.

WHERE HAVE THEY PERFORMED?
Over the past twenty years, the children have appeared in thousands of concerts around the world, including concerts at the Pentagon and the United Nations. They have been featured on popular television and radio broadcasts such as “Jay Leno” “CBS This Morning,” “Good Morning America”, “The Today Show,” ‘Dove Awards”, “Focus On The Family”. They have also performed alongside a number of well known artists and musicians including the National Symphony Orchestra of Belgium, Wyclef Jean, Bobby McFerrin, Mariah Carey, Chantal Kreviacuk to name only a few. The Choir has had the privilege of performing at Live8 in London, Royal Albert Hall, the London Palladium and other internationally renowned concert venues. Most recently the Choir was invited to perform at ONE.org’s 2006 pre Oscar party in Hollywood calling on everyone to join together to end extreme poverty.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE TOUR?
The primary goal of the Choir is to raise awareness of the need of destitute and orphaned children in Africa and to raise funds for continued development and support of the
African Children’s Choir Programs. The Choir’s international educational endeavor provides unique training for the children. Once Choir members have completed a concert tour, they will return to their homelands with the tools necessary for bettering their future. Support to the African Children's Choir™ is helping build schools and deliver education throughout Africa in Uganda, Rwanda, Sudan, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa. Education brings freedom from poverty, disease and despair. Please join us in helping educate these children in greatest need – they ARE the future of Africa!
